AI at Work — Managers

Practical AI for managers.

A biweekly briefing for engineering, operations, and government managers: one ready-to-use prompt, one repeatable workflow, and two AI developments that matter to your decisions. Written for people who answer for the result.

Every prompt comes with the check to run before you rely on it, and every example uses sanitized, fictional data. Use it in Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot, Gemini, or the tool your organization approves.

Every issue has four items, always in the same order. One prompt you can paste in today: a complete prompt for a real management problem, such as a decision memo, risk register, variance narrative, or lessons-learned entry, with what to verify before you use the output. One workflow you build once: numbered steps, an example of the result, and a note on which data stays out. Two developments in plain terms: each with the source named and a plain “why it matters to a manager.”

Prompts use sanitized, non-sensitive inputs. Export-controlled, CUI, procurement-sensitive, proprietary, and personnel information does not belong in a public AI tool, so use the tools your organization approves and check its records policies.

This is written for engineering, operations, and general managers, including government managers, at an intermediate to advanced level. New to AI? Start with Getting Started with AI at Work.
